A Kangaroo Flat man has been rendered speechless by the discovery he scored a division one prize of almost $900,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The shocked winner held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4073, drawn Saturday 1 August 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $889,834.33.

When we confirmed the news with the winner this afternoon, there was a long silence as the news sunk in.

“Oh! Beautiful! Thank you!” he eventually exclaimed.

“It’s unreal. Just beautiful. I’ve been playing a long time, but I never expected a win like this.

“I thought your missed calls were from the electricity company.

“I was calling you back to tell you to p*ss off!

“So the news definitely came out of the blue!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his life-changing win, the part-time worker revealed early retirement might be on the cards.

“I might think about quitting my job!” he laughed.

“I’ve been working part-time, and with everything happening at the moment, I didn’t think I’d be able to quit work any time soon.

“This means I might be able to retire sooner than I thought.

“I’ll be able to pay my house off, which is such a great feeling. I only just bought it so now I won’t have to worry!”

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 24-game QuickPick entry at Champions Lotto Kangaroo Flat, 20 Station Street, Kangaroo Flat.

Champions Lotto Kangaroo Flat store manager Adrian Mooney said it was a thrill to discover the outlet had sold another division one prize.

“We were rapt when we found out! The team has been quite upbeat all day telling the customers about the win,” he said.

“This is the second division one winning entry we’ve sold over the past couple of years, and the last was in 2018.

“We also sold a $25,000 top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

“All of our customers are thrilled for us too.

“We wish our winner all the best with his prize!”
