Late father’s numbers inspire TattsLotto win for West Heidelberg family
The phones are running off the hook this morning between the eleven members of a Heidelberg West family after their private syndicate won a division one prize of over $400,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The family syndicate held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3919, drawn Saturday 9 February 2019. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $405,890.35.
As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the syndicate’s 15-game marked entry also won division four and division five, bolstering the family’s total prize to $405,936.00.
Sharing their joy with us this morning, the syndicate leader revealed the syndicate’s marked numbers had a special meaning to the family.
“That is just perfect!” she exclaimed once the news was confirmed.
“It’s a family syndicate. There are eleven of us.
“They are actually my father’s numbers. He passed away about two years ago but we kept playing them to honour him.
“He’d been playing them for years and years before that too so I’m quite excited we’ve finally had a win!”
When we asked how she planned to spend her share of the windfall, the woman confessed she still couldn’t comprehend the win.
“This was the last thing I expected when I answered the phone this morning!” she laughed.
“I’m sure we will have some sort of family party to celebrate the win. That’s for sure!
“Maybe we’ll use ours towards a holiday – I really can’t think at the moment!”
The syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the winning entry at West Heidelberg Lotto, Shop 6, The Mall, Bell Street, Heidelberg West.
West Heidelberg Lotto owner Candy Chow said she was thrilled her outlet sold a division one winning entry.
“It’s really created a buzz around the mall, everyone is talking about it!” she exclaimed.
“We are really happy it was won by a local customer and all those people get to share in the prize.
“We wish them all the best and hope they all enjoy their prize!”
