A Launceston couple say they finally have the security and freedom they’ve always dreamt of after taking home division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Tasmanian pair held one of the seven division one winning entries in draw 4111, drawn Saturday 12 December 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $883,981.39.

Confirming their win with us this morning, the husband and wife said they were still on cloud nine from the weekend’s revelation.

“Thank you very much,” they laughed.

“It has definitely come at a very good time!” the husband explained.

“We checked our ticket early on Sunday morning.

We couldn’t believe it when we saw the results online. “It was unbelievable! Truly unbelievable.

“We don’t play regularly and I’m not even sure why we decided to get an entry for the weekend’s draw, but I am so glad we did!”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their division one fortune, the couple said it would be life-changing in a big way.

“This means that we don’t need to worry about money anymore,” the winning woman explained.

“We’ve wanted to buy a house all our lives and now we can do that!

“It’s the security that we’ve always dreamt of.

“It’s unbelievable and so overwhelming. We’re just so happy!”

The thrilled couple, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased their life-changing entry at Charles Street Central Newsagency, 96 Charles Street, Launceston.

Charles Street Central Newsagency manager Ryan Collier said he hoped the win was the beginning of a winning streak for the outlet.

“We were so happy when we discovered we’d sold a division one winning entry,” he said.

“The outlet has sold five over the years, but it’s been about ten years since the last one.

“It’s so nice to know it’s gone to a local couple. I am sure they are very deserving and will enjoy every cent of it.

“Congratulations to them!”
