Swansea’s newest Lotto millionaire found: Local couple plan home renovations with $1.2 million windfall
Stop looking, Swansea! The region’s newest Saturday Lotto millionaire has been found, with a local couple collecting their $1.2 million prize today.
The New South Wales players held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4057, drawn Saturday 6 June 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,239,024.95.
As their ticket was unregistered, we had no way of contacting them with the winning news. Instead, we had to wait for them to come forward to collect their prize, which they did today.
“We’ve played for a long time,” the winning woman explained.
“I checked the numbers in the Sunday paper and when I saw we’d won, I was sort of numb. We don’t win these sort of things!
“I didn’t think too much, we’ve just tried to remain calm.
“I’m starting to believe it’s real now!”
As for their $1.2 million windfall, the couple said they were doing their best to keep a level head as they planned how to enjoy it.
“There’s lots and lots of little things we need done around the house. They’re simple things, but things that will make a big difference,” she said.
The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Swansea Newsagency, Shop 1, 202 Pacific Highway, Swansea.
Swansea Newsagency owner Wayne Blackmore said he couldn’t be happier for his winners and was glad they had discovered their good fortune.
“We are very excited to have contributed to making someone’s dream of winning the lottery come true,” he said.
“We have been sharing the news with all of our customers that we sold a winning ticket in a Saturday Lotto draw.
“All of our customers are so excited and hope they will be the next to win a division one prize!
“We would like to congratulate our winner and thank them for shopping at our store. We are so happy – it almost feels as though we have won ourselves!”
