Mays Hill man struggles to maintain composure amidst spectacular $2 million Saturday Lotto win
A Mays Hill man has admitted he had to hold himself back from jumping up and down with glee after discovering he’d won $2 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto Megadraw.
The New South Wales resident held one of the 15 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4375, drawn Saturday 24 June 2023, and took home $2 million.
“I was ready to absolutely lose it but a voice in the back of my head told me, ‘calm down, is this real?’,” the winner laughed when we called this morning to confirm his win.
“Eventually, after checking the ticket three or four more times, I let myself get carried away and accepted that the win was real.
“I rushed over to my wife and showed her the winning amount and she and I just laughed and hugged each other.
“It was one of the most special moments of my life.
“It feels amazing, just like a dream! I couldn’t believe it at first but it’s now starting to sink in. I’m a millionaire!
“I’ve never won anything really but I was sitting around on Saturday afternoon and remembered there was $30 million up for grabs.
“I got myself an entry but never expected to win more than division six!
“Now this has happened!
“My priority is to buy my family our first home but following that I’m not sure what to do.
“I just want to enjoy it for the moment. Thank you so much, this has changed my life.”
His winning 12-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
