Nearly a week after the draw, an Elizabeth couple is this afternoon reeling from the shock discovery they are the elusive Golden Grove division one winner SA Lotteries has been searching for.
 
The happy winners hold one of the three division one winning entries nationally and the only entry from South Australia that took home a division one prize of $1,336,104.22 in Saturday X Lotto draw 3845, drawn Saturday 26 May 2018.
 
The winning entry was registered to an Easiplay Club card, however SA Lotteries’ attempts to contact the registered ticketholder were unsuccessful.
 
When speaking with an SA Lotteries official this afternoon to confirm their win, the wife revealed she had seen a few missed calls on her phone.
 
“Oh wow. Thank you! Wow! That’s great!” she exclaimed.
 
“Sometimes when it comes up as a private number I don’t answer it, but I had seen that someone had called.

“Now we are chatting it’s the best news ever! If I knew I would have answered private calls more often!”

 
When asked how they planned to spend their X Lotto windfall, the local couple revealed it would allow them to own their home outright.

“We’ve been playing for many, many years! I never thought I’d be a division one winner!” she said.
 
“My house will be paid off in full now! Apart from that I can’t think.
 
“Maybe a new car! I’m not that adventurous! I’m sure the family will get something.”
 
The delighted duo revealed that celebrations were already planned for this evening as they were celebrating a loved one’s birthday.
 
“We were already planning a celebratory dinner but who knows what will happen now!”
 
Their 25-game QuickPick was purchased at The Grove Newsagency, The Grove Shopping Centre, Corner of The Golden Way and The Grove Way, Golden Grove.
 
The Grove Newsagency supervisor Vy Hookway said the outlet was still celebrating selling a division one winning entry.
 
“It was a nice end of an era as this draw was on the last day of trade in our old store – one we’ve been in for more than 25 years. We’ve relocated to another position in The Grove Shopping Centre,” she said.
 
“With our new store, we can’t wait to sell another division one winning entry – it would be a great way to christen it.
 
“All week customers have been asking if the winner had been found so they’ll be happy to know the winner has been united with their prize.”
 
The six winning numbers in X Lotto draw 3845 on Saturday 26 May 2018 were 10, 29, 40, 21, 25 and 38.  The supplementary numbers were 22 and 7.
 
Across Australia there were three division one winning entries in X Lotto draw 3845 – one each from Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
 
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 388 so far this financial year, including 37 won by SA Lotteries customers.
