A Smithfield Plains man is looking forward to being reunited with his family after winning $1,500,000 in the weekend’s X Lotto Superdraw.

The happy winner was one of three division one winning entries in South Australia, and one of 14 division one winning entries nationally in the weekend’s $21 million Superdraw event.

Speaking with a SA Lotteries official this afternoon to confirm the win, the thrilled man revealed his shock at discovering he was now a millionaire.

“I checked my ticket this morning at the newsagency and they said I had won, but I had no idea I had won that much!” he explained.

“I was shocked! Thank god for that!

“I buy a QuickPick every week but I’ve never won this much!”

When asked how the Smithfield Plains man planned to spend his $1,500,000 X Lotto windfall, he confessed it would help both his and his family’s future.

“I’m going to use it to help my family immigrate to Australia!” he exclaimed.

“My brother has children that I’ve never met, and I’ve always wanted to go and visit but never was able to save enough.

“Now, they will be able to come and live here and I can get to know them as I’ve been on my own here for 15 years.

“I’ll be able to buy a house and a new car and drop my work hours to part-time so I can finish studying.”

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 36-game QuickPick entry from Munno Para Newsagency, Shop 17-19 Munno Para Shopping Centre, Main North Road, Smithfield.

Stephanie McAvaney, team member at Munno Para Newsagency, said she was thrilled the store had sold another division one winning entry.

“This is the second division one winning entry we have sold in the last 12 months which is really exciting!” she said.

“Congratulations to our winner, we wish them all the best with their prize!”

The six winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 3815 on Saturday 10 February 2018 were 7, 27, 23, 2, 16 and 44, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 28.

Across Australia, there were 14 division one winning entries – four from Victoria, three from South Australia, three from New South Wales, three from Western Australia, and one from Queensland.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 276 so far this financial year, including 25 won by SA Lotteries customers.
