A Brownsville man who thought he was being pranked was happy to today discover he actually had won division one in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The Wollongong player held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto 3979 on Saturday 7 September 2019, with each entry taking home a division one prize of $573,928.68.

We called the man this morning who was oblivious to the fact he’d won division one. “Is this a prank call? Promise me this is not a prank?” he questioned.

“Oh wow! That is unbelievable!

“I am shaking like crazy!

“I am over-the-moon. This is the best week ever!

“You have made my day. This is life changing for me!

“I’m at work now and it’s so busy so I don’t think I’ll be able to leave. I don’t know if I will be able to concentrate though.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the stoked bloke shared it would allow him to own his own home.

“I am going to buy a house. This will be my first house, so it’s very exciting,” he shared. “I am going to have to have a beer to celebrate tonight.”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Brownsville Newsagency, Shops 6 & 7 Dandaloo Shopping Centre, 41 Brownsville Avenue, Brownsville.

Brownsville Newsagency owner Jane Woods said the outlet was celebrating selling a division one winning entry.

“Isn’t that fantastic news?” she said.

“We’ve been sharing this wonderful news with our customers and have been celebrating in store.

“This is the biggest prize we’ve ever sold, so we are thrilled. We’ve been waiting to sell a division one win and we can’t wait to sell another.

“We are ecstatic for the winner and wish him all the best with his prize.”
