Syndicate of ten factory workers celebrate $587,000 Saturday X Lotto win
A ten-person syndicate of factory workers are celebrating scoring a division one prize worth over $587,000 in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The private syndicate held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 3979, drawn Saturday 7 September 2019. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $573,928.68.
As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the syndicate’s System 8 marked entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering their total prize to $587,061.78.
Each member of the syndicate walks away with a prize worth $58,706.18.
The winning ticket was purchased using the Lott’s Syndimate tool, an easy way for players to create their own private syndicates.
Sharing his excitement with us this afternoon, a member of the syndicate shared the workers had already started planning their celebrations.
“We’ve been playing this syndicate every week for about two and a half years,” he explained.
“We’ve never won anything like this before. The most we’ve won was about $50 each and that was a few years ago so it’s been a bit of a long dry spell. I’m glad we’ve broken it!
“The team has already started talking about how we are going to celebrate and I think there will be a dinner and drinks on the cards.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his share of the windfall, the happy winner said he couldn’t wait to spoil his kids.
“I’ll pop a huge chunk on the mortgage and then spend the rest on the kids,” he said.
“A few of the other blokes are planning the same thing. Another said he’d use it on spending money for a holiday to the US.
“Everyone is planning something!”
A member of the syndicate, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the winning entry at Novar Gardens Newsagency, Shop 5, 122 Morphett Road, Novar Gardens.
Novar Gardens Newsagency owner Helen Davis said she was thrilled for her customers.
“We are absolutely over-the-moon that our customers have scored a division one prize!” she exclaimed.
“Hopefully we’ll continue our winning streak and sell a division one winning entry in this Thursday’s $100 million Powerball draw.
“All of our customers will be thrilled to know our store has sold a winner. Everyone has been talking about who the winners may be.
“We’ve sold three division one winning entires over the 13 years we’ve been here. The last one was about four years ago so it’s nice to have sold another one.
“Congratulations to our winners! We wish them all the best with their prize!”
