A Tweed Heads trio are celebrating their decade-old syndicate scoring them a division one prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The New South Wales players held one of the eight division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4181, drawn Saturday 14 August 2021 and take home a division one prize of $797,532.27.

Confirming their win with us, the group said they’d been playing lottery games together for a decade.

“I checked the ticket online and I couldn’t believe my eyes,” one of the winners declared.

“I thought there had to be some kind of error.

“So I went down the road to see my friend, who I purchased the ticket with, and got him to double-check it.

“We couldn’t believe it.

“We’ve played for such a long time, and now we’ve had a division one win. It’s just amazing.

“We each picked a few numbers so many years ago. We can’t believe that they’ve finally been drawn!”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their lottery windfall, the group said they had no doubt they would enjoy it throughout their retirement.

“We’re all still trying to decide,” one winning man said.

“We are certainly going to enjoy it and use it wisely.

“I’m thinking a new car to begin with!” Their winning marked System-7 entry was purchased at Tweed City News, Shop 245, Tweed City Shopping Centre, 54 Minjungbal Drive, Tweed Heads South.

Tweed City News owner Graeme Hooley said it was fantastic to see one of their customers walk away with a division one prize.

“This is why we do what we do,” he declared.

“We are so happy for our winner and so excited to share this good fortune with the rest of our customers.

“We have celebrated 15 division one wins over the 18 years of owning the newsagency, and it is always such a thrill to add another one to the list.

“Congratulations to them!”
