Twenty-two retirees have spent the entire weekend celebrating their $451,000 TattsLotto win – revealing they don’t have to worry about party noise complaints because they’re all neighbours.

The private syndicate of 22 retirees held one of the 12 division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 4295, drawn Saturday, 17 September 2022 and takes home $451,772.22.

We called the senior winners this morning, with the syndicate leader admitting they’d barely slept a wink all weekend.

“We found out after the draw on Saturday night, and we couldn’t believe it,” the syndicate leader giggled.

“There are 22 of our neighbours in this syndicate, so we called each of them to let them know. It’s a fantastic win for a few oldies!

“They all came over, and we stayed up all night celebrating! We had quite a few drinks. We didn’t get to bed until way past midnight.

“We were all delighted indeed, and many have already decided what they’ll do with the prize. A few want new cars, another wants a new bed, then there are a few holidays, and we’ll use ours for our anniversary.

“This win is quite unusual. We’ve been buying tickets together for a long time, and we always use the same numbers and buy them from the same shop.

“But this time, I was with my wife. We were grocery shopping and we decided to try somewhere new.

“What a great decision that was! We’re going to go and surprise the newsagency with some gifts to thank them for our win.

“We’re having another party this week. The best thing is, we’re all neighbours, so we don’t have to worry about noise.

“It’s going to be wild! We can be as loud as we want and stay up as late as possible celebrating!”

Their winning entry was purchased at D's Village News & Lotto, 38 Lincoln Street, Lindisfarne.

D's Village News & Lotto owner Danielle Newstead said her team was celebrating the major win.

“We’re so excited about this win! Everyone is eager to know who the winners are,” she explained.

“We last sold a division one win in 2020. So we’ve had two big wins in under two years, which is fantastic!

“From all of us here, we’d love to send a big congratulations to our winners. We’re so happy for you and would love to congratulate you in person.

“It’ll be exciting when we have our next division one win. We can’t wait!”
