A Werribee grandmother has confessed her mind has been racing since becoming a multi-millionaire from scoring division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Melbourne pensioner held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto’s $20 million Superdraw draw 3977, drawn Saturday 31 August 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $2,857,142.86.

Sharing her elation with us this morning, the happy winner confessed when she first discovered the news she was stressed until her son confirmed the news.

“I’ve been playing Lotto every week for years and years,” she explained.

“I was nearly going to give up but saw that there was $20 million on offer and decided to play.

“I usually get a 25-game QuickPick entry and I’ve never won anything more than a few small prizes and enough to buy the next week’s ticket.

“For some reason I decided to get a 36-game QuickPick entry and I am glad I did because I won on the last game.

“When I checked the numbers and saw that I had won I couldn’t believe it. I was so stressed I’d got it wrong I called my son and made him check it on the computer.

“When he saw that I had won he kept saying ‘oh my god, oh my, oh dear’ so I knew then that I had won and could relax!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her future as a multi-millionaire the devoted mother and grandmother said she couldn’t wait to share it with her family.

“I’m going to buy myself a house and a new car,” she declared.

“I’ve got four kids and five grandkids so I am going to help them out.

“I called them as soon as I knew and they were all crying. We’ve been battling for a while so it’s nice I’ll be able to help them out.

“The kids keep calling me to check that I’m okay because I was so overwhelmed and the news has given them hope for the future.”

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 36-game QuickPick entry at Target Lotto, Shop 9 24-50 Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing. Target Lotto owner Carlo Addamo said he was thrilled his outlet had sold another division one winning entry.

“This is the 34th major prize we’ve sold!” he exclaimed.

“I’ve owned the store for 17 years and we’ve always considered ourselves really lucky.

“We renovated and moved locations three years ago and were hoping that our luck would follow us and we are happy to say it has. This is the third major prize we’ve sold in three years.

“We are so happy for our customer and so thrilled she is a regular and local to the area.

“We wish her all the best with her prize and we can’t wait to celebrate with her!”
