A Ballarat man has found the ultimate reward for finishing his Sunday chores - discovering he won more than $829,000 in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw.

The Victorian held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4167 on Saturday 26 June 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $829,588.27.

When we called the winner this morning, he was on his way to work and quickly pulled over to hear his winning news confirmed.

“I found out on the weekend,” he explained.

“I had just come inside after mowing the lawn and my wife had tea on the table.

“As I was sitting down, I decided to check the numbers and that’s when I saw the division one win.

“I couldn’t believe it! I thought, ‘what the bloody hell is this!’.

“I didn’t scream or say anything about the win. I just passed the phone to my wife and said, ‘hey darl, take a look at this, will ya?’.

“My wife started screaming! She can’t believe it. She wants to hear it confirmed before we tell anyone or do any celebrating.

“She’ll be glad to hear I’ve received this call. I am sure she’ll want to go out for a really nice dinner tonight to celebrate.

“Thank you so much for delivering me this wonderful news!

“You have made me very, very happy.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his TattsLotto win, the elated winner said he was still struggling to comprehend the news.

“I think we might get a new house. We just need to decide if we want to buy or build one,” he shared.

“The rest we will save for our retirement.”

His winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Williams News and Lotto, 917 Sturt Street, Ballarat.

Williams News and Lotto owner Bruce Thomson said his entire team was celebrating the division one win.

“When we first heard the news that we had sold a division one prize in Saturday night’s Tattslotto draw we were all very excited,’ he said.

“This is the second division one winning entry we have sold in the last six months. We have now sold eight division one winning tickets in eight years.

“In these difficult times at the moment with COVID, it really helps create some positivity and puts everyone in such a fun and happy mood.

“We would like to congratulate our winner. We wish them all the very best and hope they are celebrating.”
