Woodcroft man still in ‘dreamland’ after $1 million Saturday X Lotto win
A Woodcroft retiree has confessed to feeling like he is still in dreamland after discovering he is now more than $1 million richer from winning division one in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The happy winner held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 3899, drawn Saturday 1 December 2018.
Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,004,705.27. Sharing his joy with us this morning, the thrilled man recounted how he discovered the life-changing news.
“I looked at it on Saturday night and I’m still in dreamland!” he laughed.
“I check my tickets on the Lott app and on Saturday night I just happened to sit down and check my X Lotto.
“I’ve been buying X Lotto since it started and I just can’t believe it. I’m still finding it difficult to get my head around it.
“I’m over the moon! I’m over the moon! I’ve got to come back down to earth!
“I hadn’t bought a Saturday X Lotto for about a month because I hadn’t been winning anything. I thought ‘it doesn’t work for me anymore’.
“But last Saturday I just thought I’d grab a QuickPick. It must have been divine providence or something! It’s just fantastic!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his X Lotto windfall, the overjoyed winner revealed he had his sights set on an intercontinental holiday.
“I’ll be able to do some holidays overseas with my wife now, we are both retired and I’ll give some money to my children to help them with their mortgages,” he explained.
“We’d love to go to Europe for a holiday and then maybe a cruise.
“We’ve go to get these things done while we can!
“We’ll be financially set for the rest of our lives!”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 14-game Quickpick from Pimpala Newsagency & Gifts, Shop 7 Woodcroft Plaza Shopping Centre, 217 Pimpala Road, Woodcroft.
The winning entry was won on the 21st anniversary of the store’s opening on the 1 December 1997.
Owner of Pimpala Newsagency & Gifts, Hemant Malhotra, said he was thrilled his outlet had sold another division one winning entry.
“It’s very good!” he exclaimed.
“It is the fourth division one winning entry we’ve sold but the first in two years so we are thrilled for the store and for our customer.
“We wish them all the best for their prize!”
