A Woolloongabba man has started his Monday morning with the life-changing news he was one of the weekend’s Gold Lotto division one winners.

The Brisbane resident held one of the eight division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4171, drawn Saturday 10 July 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $756,133.42.

When we spoke to the winner this morning, he had no idea he was holding a division one winning entry.

“Oh my god,” he laughed.

“I don’t believe it. I can’t believe it!

“Are you sure this isn’t some kind of joke?
“That’s the best news I’ve heard in my life!

“My jaw has dropped to the floor. That’s magnificent news! This is incredible.

“Oh my god. I am in shock. I’m ecstatic.”

With a division one fortune set to hit his bank account, he said it was time for some big changes.

“I’ll get rid of the mortgage to begin with,” he declared.

“I would absolutely love to get myself a new car.

“And I will be cutting back on work so I have more time to do the things I really enjoy.

“This is magnificent!”

The life-changing entry was purchased at Target Newsagency, Shop 12, Buranda Village, 264 Ipswich Road, Woolloongabba.

Target Newsagency manager Han-Chieh Hsieh said the win marked a special milestone for the store.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold since owning the outlet,” she explained.

“I couldn’t believe it when we saw we had sold it. I was so excited.

“All our customers are also so happy to hear someone from our community has won.

“Congratulations to our winner!”
