A Wyong man said he felt shivers running down his spine the moment he was told he was almost $1 million richer after the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The New South Wales player held one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4173, drawn Saturday 17 July 2021. Each entry won a division one prize of $999,822.93.

Sharing his excitement with us this morning, the man explained he’d just checked his winning ticket at the newsagency.

“I’m very happy with that,” he laughed.

“I am absolutely over the moon!

“I have cold shivers running down my spine.

“I feel like crying. That’s unbelievable.

“This is fabulous, really fabulous!

“I’m feeling very emotional right now. Life is going to change in a great way!

“This is beautiful, so beautiful. It is such a lovely gift.”

The latest Lotto winner explained his plans for retirement had suddenly been brought forward by a few years.

“This is going to make my retirement life very nice,” he declared.

“I will be giving up work as soon as I can. I’ve worked for long enough. I am over it, and I’m ready to join my wife in retirement.

“We will definitely be traveling as soon as we can. That’s how we will be enjoying our retirement.”

The life-changing entry was purchased at Lake Haven Lotto, Kiosk K8, Lake Haven Shopping Centre, Lake Haven Drive & Goobarabah Avenue, Gorokan.

Lake Haven Lotto owner David Goodwin said he hoped there would be plenty more big wins for his customers.

“There is so much uncertainly at the moment, and people are doing it really tough,” he said.

“We’d love to see more wins like this for our community.

“We’d like to wish our latest winner all the best in his retirement.

“We’re so happy for him. Congratulations to him!”
