A Goondiwindi woman in her mid-twenties says her life has changed forever, after winning division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto.

The regional Queensland resident held one of six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3915, drawn Saturday 26 January 2018. Each winner takes home a division one prize of $678,118.79.

Confirming her win with us five days after the draw, the woman explained how she discovered she had won division one.

“I realised late on Saturday night,” she explained.

“I scanned the ticket on my phone. I saw the amount come up but I obviously couldn’t believe it!

“I had to scan the ticket another found times to be sure.

“All I could scream is ‘mum, mum, I’ve won the Lotto!’

“Mum wouldn’t even listen to me but then dad heard me screaming and jumped out of bed and he scanned the ticket twice.

“Then we realised it was true, I’d won Gold Lotto!”

The young woman revealed from that moment she knew her life had changed forever.

“I’m going to build a house out at Goondiwindi, buy a car and pay off my parent’s mortgage!” she exclaimed.

“That’s the plan!”

“I’ll keep working, I absolutely love my job.

“But I’ll be able to set myself up for the rest of my life.

“I won’t have to borrow money to build a house, I’ll never have a mortgage!

“This has changed my life!”

The winning entry was purchased from Bishops Goondiwindi, 70 Marshall Street, Goondiwindi, which just celebrated 50 years of helping locals’ lottery dreams come true.

Bishops Goondiwindi employee Madalene Coleman said she was shocked the outlet had sold another division one winning entry so close to the last.

“Our customers are so shocked and excited to know we have sold another division one winning ticket,” she laughed.

“I feel like we’re on such a great winning streak! We only sold a division one winning entry in June last year.

“Everyone always says only city newsagents sell winning entries but we are proof that life-changing wins also land out in the country.

“What a great way to start the new year, I hope they enjoy their win and their good luck carries on throughout the year!”
