More than one week after their winning numbers were drawn, the identity of a Sydney Set for Life First Prize winner remains a mystery as they have yet to come forward to kick off their ongoing prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years.

NSW Lotteries is eagerly waiting to hear from the winner, who won 1st Prize in Set for Life draw 565 on Tuesday 21 February 2016 with an unregistered entry purchased in the in the Sydney suburb of Kogarah.

The mystery Set for Life winner is one of three unclaimed top lotto prizes in New South Wales.

Set for Life spokesperson Matt Hart said the team was on stand-by to confirm the win to the newest Set for Life 1st Prize winner.

He urged all players who purchased an unregistered entry in Sydney last month to double check their tickets as soon as possible.

“Just imagine how life-changing it could be to receive the news that your bank account will receive $20,000 each and every month for the next 20 years,” he said.

“The possibilities of what you could do each month for the next 20 years are endless! Imagine the things you could do and the places you could go if you had the opportunity to plot out on your calendar what you planned to do with your $20,000 windfall each month! 

“We’re urging any Set for Life players who purchased an unregistered entry in the Sydney suburb of Kogarah to check their entry as soon as possible because they could be the First Prize winner we’re waiting to hear from!”

The First Prize winning entry in Set for Life draw 565 on Tuesday 21 February 2017 was purchased at St George Tobacconist, 15 Railway Parade, Kogarah.

St George Tobacconist owner Minh Tran said a lot of customers had visited her store during the past week to check their tickets.

“I’ve put a sign up and some balloons to try and grab people’s attention and hopefully remind the winner to check their ticket!” she said.

“A lot more people are also buying Set for Life tickets since they know a First Prize winning ticket was sold here.”

Other unclaimed New South Wales division one lotto prizes include a division one prize of $2 million that was won in Monday Lotto draw 3106 on 23 January 2012.

The unregistered ticket was purchased from Office N News, Shop 1, Gladesville Shopping Centre, Flagstaff Street, Gladesville. 

A division one prize of $400,009.97 from Saturday Lotto draw 3447 on 2 August 2014 has also yet to be claimed. This prize was won with an entry purchased at Henry Deane Plaza Newsagency, Shop 11 in Henry Deane Plaza, 2 Lee Street, Sydney CBD.

“We recommend that anyone who believes they are holding a winning ticket to keep it in a safe place and contact NSW Lotteries on 131 868 immediately to start the prize claim process,” Mr Hart said.

Last week’s Sydney winner was the seventh Set for Life First Prize won in New South Wales since Set for Life launched in August 2015. The mystery winner joins 19 other national winners who are already enjoying their monthly instalments of the 20-year Set for Life windfall.

Across the country, it was the only entry that won First Prize in Set for Life draw 565 which offers a guaranteed First Prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years for up to four winners in each draw.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 565 on Tuesday 21 February 2017 were 34, 17, 33, 28, 32, 4, 27 and 1, with the bonus numbers 15 and 22.

A Set for Life draw is conducted every night of the week, 365 days each year, and players can start their seven-day Set for Life entry on any day of the week.

To win the First Prize in Set for Life, players must correctly choose the 8 winning numbers drawn from 37. Additional smaller divisional prizes can be won from Second Prize to Eighth Prize by selecting a combination of the 8 winning numbers and 2 bonus numbers drawn.
