Sunday proves to be the perfect day to be Set for Life
What better way to ward off the Monday blues than by scoring the Set for Life First Prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years?
While a Set for Life draw is held every night of the week, research shows Sunday draws have delivered more Set for Life First Prize winners than any other day.
Almost a third (28%) of all the Set for Life First Prize winners since the game’s first draw on 7 August 2015 have won the coveted prize on a Sunday.
Meanwhile, Saturday and Thursday have been the days that have delivered the least number of winners, with just two on each of those days since the game began. (See Table 1)
The data comes as a record number of Set for Life First Prize winners were crowned this month.
Four people from across Australia won the First Prize within 10 days of each other between 6 January and 14 January 2018.
The four new winners bolster the total number of Set for Life First Prize winners to 32 nationally.
These 32 winners will receive a combined total of $144 million during the next two decades.
Set for Life spokesperson Elissa Lewis said the slew of recent Set for Life First Prize winners had enjoyed an enviable start to the New Year.
“While everyone else was coming home from holidays and heading back to work, our four Set for Life First Prize winners were heading straight to the bank,” she said.
“This financial year is on track to be a record-breaking year for the game. To date, the most Set for Life winners we’ve crowned in a single financial year was 12 in 2015-2016. However, during the seven months since 1 July 2017, we’ve already had 12 winners. With another five months of draws to go this financial year, who knows how high our tally will climb.” Ms Lewis said.
Set for Life players enjoyed the fact that their one ticket gave them entry into seven days of draws.
“While Sunday has delivered the most winners, the good news for players is that every ticket gives entry into seven days of draws. That’s seven chances to win big.
“Our winners have also told us they love receiving their prize in monthly instalments over two decades. Imagine seeing your bank balance automatically bolster by $20,000 each month for 20 years!
“Upon becoming a Set for Life First Prize winner, some tell us they decide to immediately retire, while others use their regular prize payment to pursue their passions – from starting a new business to travel.”
