The Gold Lotto City Hall Lights has returned to Brisbane and is a shining signal that the festive season is well and truly upon us.

This prominent event transforms the city centre into a kaleidoscopic Christmas spectacular, and delivers locals and visitors alike the ultimate light show on the façade of Brisbane City Hall.

It’s the seventh year Gold Lotto has sponsored this centrepiece of the Christmas period and comes ahead of Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw on Saturday 28 December.

This year’s fantastic new lights display depicts an Australian animal story by children’s author and Brisbane local Samantha Wheeler. The story revolves around Clarence the koala who is searching for the perfect gift for his family and friends with one sleep ’til Christmas.

Taking place nightly, the playful Aussie Christmas tale comes to life via animation onto Brisbane City Hall every 15 minutes.

With its enchanting narrative and creative flair, this intricate lighting display has fast become a highlight of the festive season.

The Lott Managing Director Sue van der Merwe will be on hand to switch on the display for the eager audience.

“Christmas is a time for family and it’s a great feeling knowing you are part of something that brings families together during this time,” she said.

“This is the seventh year that Gold Lotto has supported this wonderful event. We wish all our players and their families a merry Christmas and hope they are safe this festive season.

”Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner had the pleasure of launching the Brisbane Christmas festivities in November, which include an array of fantastic events around the city.

“Christmas has come to town with festive favourites including the mesmerising Gold Lotto City Hall Lights, the dazzling Enchanted Garden, and Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols,” he said.

The Gold Lotto City Hall Lights take place 6 to 24 December from 7.30pm to midnight, every fifteen minutes.

The Lott’s national charity partner, Starlight Children’s Foundation, is also selling Starlight wands and raising funds during the Gold Lotto City Hall Lights to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families this Christmas.
