Gold Lotto City Hall Lights to brighten Brisbane with festive cheer
The Gold Lotto City Hall Lights will once again brighten Brisbane this festive season, adding Christmas cheer to the city.
This prominent event transforms the CBD into a colourful Christmas spectacular and delivers locals and visitors alike the ultimate light show on the façade of Brisbane City Hall.
It's the eighth year Gold Lotto has sponsored this centrepiece of Brisbane’s Christmas period and is a great opportunity for Brisbane residents and visitors to enjoy a fun-filled evening after an eventful year.
Since launching in 2013, the Gold Lotto City Hall Lights have become an integral and much-anticipated event in Brisbane's Christmas program with tens of thousands of visitors viewing the lights each year.
This year's Gold Lotto City Hall Lights have been reimagined with a dazzling new display of fantasy and magic. From glistening ice castles to Santa's bustling workshop, the Brisbane City Hall facade will be adorned in a decorative spectacle designed for everyone, young and old.
The Lott Managing Director Sue van der Merwe will be on hand to switch on the display for the eager audience.
"Christmas is a time for kindness and sharing, and it's a great feeling knowing you are part of something that brings people together during this time, while still being able to adhere to social distancing requirements," she said.
"This is the eighth year that we've supported this wonderful event. We wish all our lottery players and their families a merry Christmas and hope they are safe this festive season."
Brett Fraser, Chief Executive Officer from Brisbane Economic Development Agency, is excited to see the event return for 2020.
"The Gold Lotto City Hall Lights is one of the crowd favourites of Brisbane's Christmas program, and, considering the challenges in staging outdoor events this year, we are very pleased to be able to share the lights with the Brisbane community again," he said.
"Our partnership with The Lott to deliver the lights is set to bring so much joy to people this Christmas after a tough year."
Brisbanites and visitors have the chance to view the Gold Lotto City Hall Lights between 4 and 24 December with the display starting every fifteen minutes from 7.30pm to midnight.
