There’s a lot going on right now. In times like these, we appreciate more than ever the impact that a bit of good news can have.

Thankfully we’re no stranger to good news and we’re grateful for the incredible winning stories that have brightened our days recently.

Check out some of our favourite wins from this week below.

1. Some welcome news for these bushfire-affected winners
Not one, but TWO Lucky Lotteries 1st Prizes have gone to some truly deserving Aussies this week.  A couple from Camden and an Inverell man were both affected by the bushfires in New South Wales earlier this year. In a welcome turn of events, they each scooped a windfall that will bring some relief and help with their repairs and recovery.

“This will help me get back on my feet. You have no idea how much this means. It changes everything for me,” the Inverell winner told us.

2. Maaate! Two Queenslanders clock off early to celebrate $15 million Oz Lotto win
Finding out you’ve won a huge $15 million Oz Lotto jackpot is already pretty fantastic news. But finding out you’ve won with one of your best mates is on a whole other level.

A pair of long-time friends from central Queensland discovered they’d taken out division one in Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto draw and were even more stoked they get to share their win with each other. The hardworking duo say they’ll keep working but took an early-mark to celebrate the good news.

3. This Set for Life winner just wanted to buy a farm and now she can!
We get to hear all sorts of winning dreams from people all over Australia, but when this Morton Bay woman told us her plans now that she has won $20,000 a month for twenty years, our hearts melted. The humble winner was a bit teary as she admitted her dream was to spend more time with her husband and buy some acreage.

Even we were dreaming of a country paradise as she talked about having wine dates on the front porch, lots of animals, and an escape from the city hustle and bustle.

“Life’s too short. This prize will mean we can really take things easy and enjoy life,” she told us.

4. Dance for Daniel raises $60K to help keep kids safe
All Aussie kids deserve to feel safe in their communities and our charity partner, the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, has been working hard to make that a reality. Last weekend the foundation hosted their 15th annual Dance for Daniel and raised an incredible $60,000 which will help them continue their child safety education and assistance programs.

Founders Denise and Bruce Morcombe spoke about the legacy of their son Daniel and shared their heartfelt thanks to the community for all their support, and for believing in a future where children and young people are safe from abuse and risk of harm.

5. Over one million winning entries in Powerball
While no winning entry scored Thursday night’s $60 million Powerball division one prize, a total of 1,479,132 prizes worth more than $26.18 million were won in divisions two to nine by players all across the country. Among these were 11 division two winners, who each take home a very swish $65,938.85.

Check your tickets to see if you’re up for some winning news of your own!

Meanwhile, any aspiring multi-millionaires have next week to look forward to as Powerball climbs to a massive $80 million for next Thursday night’s draw.

MESSAGE TO PLAYERS REGARDING COVID-19:
While Australia responds to the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak, Australia’s official lotteries continue to operate as normal. We’re committed to conducting our daily draws under the supervision of government regulators, and our winners all across the country will continue to receive their prizes. We support our retailers who remain open for business and are strictly implementing the federal government’s latest social distancing and hygiene requirements to protect their staff and customers. If it is safe for you to do so, you can visit your local store to play your favourite games. You can also play online or via the official Lott app. We’ll continue to inspire dreams, deliver wins, and bring you the games you love.
