In case you missed it: Common side effects caused by major lottery wins!
From dizziness to blurry vision, this week's major prize winners discovered that a big win can come with a few side effects!
Check it out in this week’s winning highlights.
Saturday Lotto crowns three division one winners
The phrase, ‘all good things come in threes’ certainly came to mind this weekend as three division one winning entries welcomed $1.9 million each in Saturday Lotto.
One of these entries was held by a Mornington man who couldn’t sleep a wink after discovering his life-changing prize.
“I can’t express my feelings. But I feel so much happiness. I could scream, I’m so happy! I’m bursting with joy! We couldn’t sleep after we found out,” he said.
“The first thing we’ve planned is to pay off our mortgage then, I’d like to consider starting my own business. I want my wife to relax as well, so hopefully this means she can retire or go part-time.”
Salmon for lunch served with $100,000 Lucky Lotteries win
An Earlwood man cooking a salmon fillet for lunch was left feeling lightheaded after picking up the phone to discover he’d reeled in a $100,000 win in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot.
The New South Wales resident was left questioning if he should finish cooking his lunch and we certainly don’t blame him!
“You’re joking! Truly? Truly? I’m in the middle of attempting to cook salmon, I don’t really cook, and I’ve been teaching myself in recent times. Maybe this is fate, and I should cook more!” he laughed.
“I’m feeling a bit dizzy right now. This is overwhelming, but in the best way possible. Will I be able to finish cooking my lunch? This has blown me out.”
Cancel the appointment! Townsville woman scratches $25,000 top prize
When a Townsville woman discovered a $25,000 win on her Instant Scratch-Its ticket, she immediately booked an optometrist appointment to ensure her eyes hadn’t deceived her.
“I received this ticket as a gift from some relatives in Brisbane. I scratched it on my birthday, and it was a total shock. When I first thought I’d won, I thought I was seeing things,” she said.
“I booked myself into the optometrist to get my eyes checked because I didn’t believe it. But then I got a family member to check it for me, and they confirmed it was real. I cancelled the appointment.”
Powerball lightning strikes for Ocean Grove locals
Two division one winning entries shared the huge $20 million Powerball jackpot this week. One of those entries was held by a syndicate of 12 Ocean Grove players.
Each of the 12 syndicate members receives a share worth $862,814.82.
Ocean Grove Tatts & Cards owner Blair Dawkins said his entire team was celebrating the fantastic win.
“We’ve been sharing the news with all our customers, and they’re very excited about it. There’s a great atmosphere in the store today,” he said.
“This is a weekly syndicate running since I started – so that was ten years ago.’
The second Powerball division one win landed in New South Wales, and we are still attempting to contact the winner!
Young Northern Territory women continue to see stars
The Lott has committed to another year of support for the Stars Foundation with a $100,000 donation to continue empowering young Indigenous women in the Northern Territory.
2021 was a significant year for Stars. They are supporting twice as many students as they did last year, and this exponential growth has been managed amidst the backdrop of COVID-19.
