In case you missed it: Greenvale woman wins Set for Life division one and Powerball lightning strikes again
It was a golden week that sparkled with excitement for our newly crowned winners, with Aussies nationwide showered in division one wins. We’ve compiled some of our favourite winning moments from the week:
One Queensland entry wins $100 million Powerball prize
The hunt for the mystery Powerball winner is over, Queensland! Australia’s third-biggest lottery winner has been found with an Aspley mum contacting us this morning with her winning Powerball ticket worth $100 million.
The unregistered ticket holder held the only division one winning entry nationally in Powerball draw 1475, drawn Thursday 22 August 2024.
“The funny thing is too, I almost lost the ticket! I had to pull over on the way home from the shops because I thought I had left it there,” she explained when we confirmed her win.
“After that, I put it in my glovebox, and I completely forgot about it until this morning.
“I’m scared to breathe in case this isn’t real. We’re in complete shock.”
Marian man hooks million-dollar Gold Lotto win
A Marion man soaked up more than just sunshine on his holiday, snagging a $1.2 million Saturday Gold Lotto win. The man initially thought there was a "glitch" in his app, until we called to confirm the life-altering news.
“I thought it was fake at first! I logged into The Lott app and couldn’t tell if it was glitching when it said I’d won over one million dollars,” he confessed.
“I couldn’t stop shaking. I nearly dropped my phone a few times.”
The down-to-earth man shared he was eyeing a new boat and looking forward to cruising comfortably into the future.
“Some of it will go towards my mortgage and paying off any outstanding bills,” he shared.
“I’ve already started shopping for a brand-new boat too.”
From prank to payday
A Sans Souci woman was overcome with joyful emotions after receiving a call—which she initially thought was a prank—from us, confirming her $100,000 1st Prize win in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
“Oh wow! That’s amazing!” the winning woman cried.
“I’ve been having the most rotten time recently and this is just amazing news.
“I’m completely shocked! I thought this might’ve been a prank call at first.
“My heart is beating so fast, and I can’t hold back the flood of tears.
“We’ve been trying to save for a house deposit, so this will be a huge boost to our funds.”
Screams, tears and retirement dreams
Down south, a Greenvale mother had tears in her eyes as she received a life-changing call breaking the news of her Set for Life division one win.
The elated woman looks forward to a total division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 for the next 20 years.
“Did I really win that? Oh my god!” she screamed.
“This will change my life completely. Oh my god. I can’t believe this.
“I can retire! I can leave my job!
“I’ve got tears in my eyes. I can’t see anything."
We hope to continue delivering these golden moments, could you be next? Make sure you grab a ticket in your favourite game online, in-store or via The Lott app for the chance to win. Good luck!
