Nothing puts a grin on our faces like starting the week with a crowd of new division one winners. And after 15 entries took out division one in the latest Saturday Lotto draw, we had a mass of surprised Aussies who had a grin on their faces too!

Melbourne players claim most division one prizes after a winning weekend

The Saturday Lotto loot landed far and wide after the weekend’s draw. Victoria was the top winning state with six winning entries. Three went to Western Australia, while there were two in Tasmania, two in South Australia, and one each in New South Wales and Queensland.

Five Melbourne players in particular got a timely boost of good news.

“God! Are you telling me I won division one? Because that would be fabulous news,” one South Yarra woman laughed when we called her on Monday morning.

“I am shaking right now and I can’t stop crying. This is going to be a massive help for my whole family.”

Psychic predicts Carnes Hill mum’s incredible $9 million Powerball win

The winning grins continued with a Sydney woman taking out the entire Powerball jackpot in Thursday night’s draw.

When we called to confirm her prize, she revealed a psychic had predicted someone in her family would win a life-changing lottery prize this year.

“I’m crying. I haven’t even told my husband yet. I’m just sitting at home,” she said.

“A psychic recently told my mum that someone in the family would win the lottery and that they would help the rest of the family. Oh my god. I guess she was right!”

With one prediction already coming true, the overjoyed woman confirmed she would indeed be sharing the prize with her family, while also treating herself to a new home and some diamond earrings to celebrate.

School drop-off interrupted for South Brisbane mum by million-dollar news

Queensland also gained a new millionaire this week, with a South Brisbane mum taking out division one in Wednesday Lotto. The unsuspecting women was mid school drop-off when she pulled over to take our winning call.

“Oh my god! Are you sure? Are you sure?” she screamed.

“I can’t believe I will finally be able to buy a house.”

Meet the team taking children’s brain cancer research by storm thanks to $500,000 donation

While we loved hearing what our winners are dreaming of this week, we recently met with a special family who are dreaming of just one thing— a future without childhood brain cancer.

The team at the Children’s Brain Cancer Centre, an initiative of the Children’s Hospital Foundation, are looking to make that dream a reality by bringing together the perfect storm of expert researchers and clinicians.

Brain Cancer is the biggest cause of disease-related death in Australian children. We’re proud to make a $500,000 contribution from Golden Casket unclaimed prize money. Find out more here.

We look forward to bringing you more good news stories next week!
