The Lott in the Community: 2024’s winning moments
Another year has come and gone, and like always, the community contributions made possible by your support play a pivotal role in shaping a better future.
Let’s look back on 2024 and the positive impacts you helped make possible.
- March marked World Wildlife Day and to celebrate we donated $100,000 to WIRES to help them in their mission to protect our koalas and further funding to build a koala rehabilitation centre.
- In April, we kicked off the Mater Little Miracles Telethon with $600,000 from The Lott by Golden Casket to go toward life-saving research, care services, and equipment, ensuring all babies at Mater have the best possible start to life.
- We continued our long-standing support of Starlight by donating $250,000 from Golden Casket unclaimed prize money to their Wishgranting program, allowing 33 more wishes to be granted in May. We also donated $100,000 to Stars Foundation from The Lott by Tatts NT for the fourth consecutive year to continue their mentoring program that supports young First Nations women.
- We revved our engines in June as we celebrated 25 years as naming rights sponsor of the iconic Tatts Finke Desert Race.
- The research team at The University of Queensland received a $500,000 boost from The Lott by Golden Casket’s unclaimed prize money to support their pioneering research projects.
- The new financial year saw us renew our partnership with the iconic Sydney Opera House through The Lott by NSW Lotteries.
- For the third year in a row, The Lott by Tatts NT supported the Starlight Healthier Futures initiative with $100,000 donation from unclaimed prize money to help Captain Starlight continue to visit remote communities.
- September is a month dedicated to Childhood Cancer Awareness. For the fifth year, The Lott by SA Lotteries donated $100,000 to support Childhood Cancer Association’s vital work providing critical care services to children with cancer and their families. We were also proud to have been a part of the My Room Telethon for the sixth year donating $100,000 thanks to the Lott by Tatts.
- Our parent company, The Lottery Corporation, announced a partnership with Greening Australia to help assist in the restoration of ecosystems in a step towards a more sustainable future.
- LIVIN, a not-for-profit organisation on a mission to break the silence around mental health, on a life-changing mission to champion mental health received $100,000 from The Lott by Golden Casket.
- We rolled into our second year of partnering with Orange Sky Australia made possible through The Lott by Tatts NT.
- To mark the 20th year of the Walk and Day for Daniel, The Lott by Golden Casket announced a $450,000 donation from unclaimed prize money to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
- We were proud to make an important donation of $50,000 to DV Safe Phone to allow them to continue their efforts in delivering safe phones to domestic violence victims.
- In November, we marked World Kindness Day, a celebration of community good will, by supporting The Kindness Factory for our fourth year.
- To mark the Queensland Children’s Hospital’s 10th birthday, The Lott by Golden Casket delivered the perfect gift – a cheque for $1.5 million to the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
- December saw us light up Brisbane city at The Lott by Golden Casket City Hall Lights.
