Recognising the devastating impact the recent floods have had on North Queensland communities, the Lott, through Golden Casket, has donated $500,000 to the Queensland Flood Appeal.

The donation, funded from unclaimed prize money, was made to GIVIT, one of several charities appointed by the Queensland Government to collect and distribute flood relief assistance.

The Lott Managing Director Sue van der Merwe said the natural disaster had captured the attention of the Australian community and the Lott was proud to lend its support to those whose lives and livelihoods had been impacted.

“As part of our long standing commitment to the communities in which we operate, it is important for us to contribute to the flood relief efforts,” she said.

“Like many, we share the concerns for the welfare of North Queenslanders who have endured an enormously difficult time and now have the challenge of rebuilding their communities.

“We hope this donation goes some way to delivering the assistance these Queenslanders need.”

The Lott’s parent company, Tabcorp, has also contributed to the Queensland Flood Appeal through GIVIT.”
