The Daniel Morcombe Foundation has a clear and inspiring vision; to build a future where children and young people are safe from abuse and risk of harm.

Last July, we donated $300,000 to help the foundation continue its important work providing personal safety education, assistance to victims of crime, and support for families of missing persons.

The foundation also celebrated its biggest Day for Daniel event last year, with over 1.3 million people across the country remembering Daniel’s legacy and raising awareness of the importance of child safety, both in physical and online environments.

More recently, the foundation is expanding its education programs to include prevention and early intervention of harmful sexual behaviours to reduce the rates of child sexual abuse in Australia.

All Aussie kids deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods and we’re passionate about helping the Daniel Morcombe Foundation achieve its goals. We believe our communities should be places for fun and optimism, and somewhere people can come together to share amazing moments.

To further support this vision for safer communities, we recently announced an expansion to our deployment of the Amber Alert system.

The Amber Alert broadcast is an important channel used by state policing bodies to share information about missing or abducted children with the public. There are around 15 Ambers Alerts issued each year and our retail network is an incredible resource to circulate urgent details to as many people as possible, as soon as possible.

The hope is that the broadcast will help coordinate public effort in getting tips on a missing child to police officials in a timely manner. Through Golden Casket, we have shared Amber Alerts in our Queensland retail outlets for over a decade.

Since confirming our agreement with the Australian Federal Police, we are pleased to become secondary alert partners and can now broadcast Amber Alert notifications in our retail stores across all Australian states and territories (excluding WA).

Whether it’s at your local newsagency, convenience store, or any of our friendly outlets across our network of over 3800 businesses— wherever you see the sign of the Lott, there’s a commitment to keeping our communities safe.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with both the Australian Federal Police and the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to improve child safety across the country.
