A woman from West Lakes has been carrying around a big secret all long weekend – a Keno Spot 8 winning ticket worth $50,000!

The woman admitted she tucked her winning ticket into an envelope and popped it inside her handbag, and held on tight for two whole days until she could come into SA Lotteries today to claim her $50,000 prize.

“I’ve been playing these numbers for years which I picked based on family birthdates and ages,” the woman explained.

“The other day I got about $4 back so I thought I’ll just put $2 on with my same special numbers.

“Later that day I went in to another outlet to check my ticket and saw there was a Keno Spot 8 win on the screen – My first thought was ‘some lucky bugger in West Lakes has won $50,000!’

“Then I realised I got eight of eight and I thought oh god! Wow! It was me! Fabulous!” she laughed.

“I’m going to stick the prize into a bank term deposit to make sure it lasts.”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno Spot 8 entry from West Lakes Pharmacy, Shop 18 in the West Lakes Mall on Brebner Drive, West Lakes.

Most recently West Lakes Pharmacy sold a $1 million division one prize in X Lotto’s $22 Million Superdraw in June 2015 to an Osborne woman who planned to holiday in Hawaii.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
