A Bonnyrigg man instantly thought his The Lott Members Club card wasn’t working when he went to check his Monday & Wednesday Lotto ticket – only to discover he’d actually won $1 million.

The Western Sydney resident held one of the three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4219, drawn Wednesday 21 September 2022.

The New South Welshman checked his ticket at his local newsagency this morning and was left shocked by the revelation.

“It feels great!” he cheered when we confirmed his windfall.

“I thought my membership card was playing up when I checked the ticket at the newsagency.

“The next thing I knew, I was in a private room talking about my division one win!

“I’ll look at surprising my family about the win. The kids might celebrate more than my wife and I!

“I’ve marked the same lottery numbers for years and years. I’m not sure why I chose those numbers, but they’ve obviously worked in my favour!

“I’ll treat it as an ordinary day and continue to do my shopping.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his bounty, he shared it would go towards a new set of wheels.

“The first thing I’ll do is upgrade the car, and then I’ll see what else I can do,” he shared.

“It’s life-changing and it will go to good use.”

His marked winning System 7 entry was purchased at Bonnyrigg Plaza Newsagent, Shop 22, Bonnyrigg Plaza Shopping Centre, 100 Bonnyrigg Avenue.

Bonnyrigg Plaza Newsagent owner Jessie Chen said she was extremely happy to have sold another major lottery prize in under two weeks.

“I couldn’t believe it when I first read that we’d sold a division one winning entry. We’re overjoyed to have sold another major lottery prize,” she shared.

“Our team is so happy for the customer and would like to thank them for supporting our store. It’s wonderful news for the local community.

“Congratulations to the winning man and we wish him all the best with his prize.”
