Three friends from Austinmer couldn't contain their happiness and tears of joy upon learning their lottery entry scored $1 million in a recent Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

The Wollongong trio held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4342, drawn Monday 27 November 2023 and take home $1 million.

The division one winning entry was unregistered, which means we were unable to contact the ticketholder and had to wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.

The leader of the private syndicate revealed a social media post had led her to uncovering her newfound treasure.

“Oh, you have no idea. We’re all in tears,” she joyfully cried.

“It’s unbelievable news. I can’t believe it.

“I saw on social media that there was a mystery winner who had purchased their ticket from Austinmer Newsagency and Post Office, and they were encouraging players to check their tickets.

“I decided to check my tickets last night and that’s when the $1 million win appeared. I immediately burst into tears.

“I rang the two other syndicate members and they’re in shock. It’s absolutely life-changing.

‘It’s been a tough year for my family and I. This win will make such a difference.

“It’s overwhelming in the best way possible.”

With a million-dollar win about to be divided by three families, the New South Wales woman revealed how she would enjoy her share of the windfall.

“I’ll be sharing the win with my kids, and putting it towards my superannuation,” she explained.

“We need to complete some bathroom renovations and pay off some bills.

“I’ve told the kids already last night and we will celebrate soon. It’s so exciting!”

The private syndicate entry was purchased at Austinmer Newsagency and Post Office, 102 Lawrence Hargrave Drive, Austinmer.

The Austinmer Newsagency and Post Office team were overjoyed to have sold a division one winning entry to three friends and wished them all the very best with their prize.
