A Port Pirie couple can’t wait to dust off their passports and pack their bags to travel around the world after winning $1 million in this week’s Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw.

The South Australian duo held the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4115 on 22 September 2021.

“I’m still in shock!” the winning woman exclaimed when speaking to an official from The Lott this morning.

“Normally, I buy my tickets on Thursday and then check them the following Thursday. It was a very big surprise when I checked this ticket yesterday.

“It’s unbelievable – especially in a little town like Port Pirie.

“We didn’t sleep very much last night. We kept thinking, ‘is it real?’.”

In addition to sharing the winning news with her family, the Port Pirie resident explained she and her husband had already started a wish list for their million-dollar prize.

“A holiday! We want to go around the world. We’ve been halfway already, but we want to finish it off before we’re too old to do it,” she said.

“We also want to help the kids and grandkids.”

The winning 4-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Ellen Centre Newsagency, Shop 8, 170 Ellen Street, Port Pirie.

Ellen Centre Newsagency manager Tracy Sandow said she was ecstatic one of her customers scored division one.

“It’s our third division one win, but our first overnight millionaire,” she said.

“It’s the talk of the town. Everyone was bringing their tickets in yesterday, hoping it was them.

“We’re very happy we’ve helped someone become a millionaire in Port Pirie and happy it’s a lovely regular customer. We wish them all the very best with their prize.”
