A Wollongong retiree has his heart set on a road trip around the country in a shiny new caravan after this morning learning he won $7.5 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

The New South Wales player held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1396, drawn Tuesday 17 November 2020. He takes home a division one prize of $7,500,000.

Sharing his shock with us this morning, the man explained he’d just checked his ticket online.

“Thank you,” he laughed.

“That’s awesome!

“You always think ‘I’d love to win the lottery’ and now I have and it’s a great feeling.

“I’ve won small prizes over the years but to win a big one is incredible and I’m glad I’ve been able to share it with three others.

“I checked my ticket this morning, I was sitting down at home and I saw I had a win. I didn’t pay too much attention because I assumed it would be a small one but when I saw $7.5 million, I couldn’t believe it.

“Lucky I was sitting down or else I would have fallen over! “I was in disbelief. Things like this just don’t happen to me!

“It’s unreal. It’s such a shock.”

When asked what life looked like as a multi-millionaire, the generous dad said the first thing he’d be doing is looking after his family.

“The biggest and best thing is that I will be able to help my kids out,” he said.

“That will be huge for them and for me.

“I’m sure there will be a couple of holidays here and there and maybe a new car.

“I would love to travel around Australia. I could even update my caravan for the trip!”

The life-changing entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
