A Ballarat dad is opening the door to a new chapter in life after his $620,000 division one win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw unlocked the key to his home ownership dreams.

The winning man who was in his shed working away on the tools on Sunday morning when he stumbled upon more than just sawdust and uncovered his newfound fortune.

“Wow! It’s so exciting!” he laughed.

“I am still so frazzled. I’m struggling to comprehend the win.

“This ticket is really special because it has my partners and kid’s birthdays on it.

“I was in my shed yesterday morning, and I decided to check my lottery tickets. I was flicking through and then came across the winning ticket.

“I thought, ‘Hang on! That’s a big win!’. It didn’t register at first and I was staring at it for 10 minutes.

“I even tried to go to bed that night and I couldn’t – all I could think about was the win.

“It’s been a tough time, and we were dreaming of owning our very own home. We thought it wouldn’t be in a reach for quite some time but now it’s truly possible.

“We’re beyond ourselves.”
