A Coolalinga man wistfully thought about how nice it would be to win division one while glancing at the TattsLotto results, only to later realise he had indeed secured the coveted $653,000 prize.

The Darwin resident held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4417, drawn Saturday 18 November 2023 and pocketed a prize of $653,234.07.

“Woo-hoo! Thank you so much!” he laughed when we uncovered his lottery loot on the phone this morning.

“It’s funny. I looked at the TattsLotto results on Sunday morning while having a coffee and I saw there were eight winners who took home $600,000 each.

“I thought to myself, ‘Oh, wouldn’t that be nice to win! I’d love to win $600,000!’.

“Then I scanned my TattsLotto ticket on The Lott app and a win of $653,000 had come up on my screen. I said, ‘Hang on! Hang on!’.

“I put two and two together and that’s when I realised I had won division one. It’s sunk in now, but at first, I couldn’t believe it.

“I’ve been playing for many decades – since I was an 18-year-old!

“I went over to my mate’s place, and I said to him, ‘Take a look at this!’.
“He looked at me, looked at the ticket, then looked at me again. He was flabbergasted.

“We then celebrated over some beers, and it was a great way to end the weekend!”

The long-time player shared his plans for his prize focused on home improvements.

“I installed a brand-new shed, but it requires additional work, so I’ll be able to complete that,” he shared.

“I always wanted to complete my driveway, so I’ll have to get some bitumen work done.

“This will help a lot.”

His winning entry was purchased at Coolalinga Newsagency, Shop 3, Coolalinga Shopping Centre, Coolalinga.

The Collalinga Newsagency team said they were over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry to a local customer and wished them all the best with their future endeavours.
