Sleepless night for Brighton-Le-Sands man after Saturday Lotto revelation

A Brighton-Le-Sands man is looking forward to buying his first home and enjoying a long-overdue overseas holiday after bagging a $2.3 million prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

“I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed when his win was confirmed.

“I didn’t sleep at all last night. I checked my ticket after the draw, around 11pm.

“I’ve looked at it about 100 times.

“It’s unbelievable!

“I normally play online, but I’ve had some wins from tickets I got from Brighton-Le-Sands Newsagency.

“So, my wife said, ‘you need to go there and get a ticket from there for tonight’s Megadaw’.

“As soon as I checked it, I couldn’t believe it!

“It’s a huge win for my family. I’m going to buy our first house and maybe I can finally have a break and enjoy an overseas holiday.”

The winning man purchased his entry at Brighton-Le-Sands Newsagency, Shop 3, 252-269 Bay Street, Brighton-Le-Sands.

Brighton-Le-Sands Newsagency owner Helen Wang said she was thrilled to see another Megadraw division one win land at her outlet.

“You know, last year in the same December Megadraw we sold a division one winning central syndicate ticket. So, it’s exciting to have another one.  We’ve sold about 24 division one wins over the years,” she said.

“We wish our latest winner a very happy new year and 2024!”

“Holy craperoly!”: Norwa couple floored by $2.3 million Saturday Lotto surprise

A Nowra couple’s New Year’s Eve celebrations started early after they discovered they became multi-millionaires in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

“This was an impulse buy 20 minutes before the draw’s close,” the winning man explained.

“I don’t play often. We just saw there was a big draw, so we thought we’d get a ticket. It’s complete potluck.

“And just this morning, I thought I’d better check the ticket.

“Holy craperoly! I was triple and quadruple-checking the ticket. I still think I’m being punked.

“My wife was in the shower and I ran to her and told her to get out. She thought something was wrong.

“It’s a life-changing amount of money for our kids and the family around us.

“We’ll be mortgage-free and be able to support others.”

The couple purchased their winning 50-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
