A Launceston woman admits she couldn’t stop crying after her husband revealed they’d won division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Tasmanian duo held one of the six division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4331, drawn Saturday 21 January 2023. Each division one winning entry scored $929,236.33.

Speaking with us, the happy husband shared how he discovered their good fortune.

“I was just on the computer checking our ticket. I put the ticket number in and initially I thought, ‘Oh, we won $929! Oh, that’s all right!’, but then I kept reading the numbers,” he laughed.

“I did it about five or six times. I just sat there. I couldn’t believe it!

“Then I rang and told my wife. I must have sounded like someone had died on the phone. She was freaking out.”

“I was crying all day. I couldn’t stop,” the winning wife added.

“We only ever win like $8. You always hear people win it, but never think it will be you.

“This has come at a really good time. We’ve got some things we’ve always wanted to do, and this will help with a future nest egg for retirement.

“We’ve been keeping the ticket in the sock drawer to keep it safe. It’s just unbelievable!”

Their winning entry was purchased at Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto, Shop 1, 262 Invermay Road, Mowbray.

Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto owner Kate Dolley said she was thrilled her winning customers had been united with their prize.

“We were so excited to hear that we had sold a division one winning entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw. It’s the best feeling!” she said.

“There’s no doubt that our outlet will be buzzing with excitement this week, and our customers will be overjoyed to hear that we’ve sold a division one winning entry!

“This is the second division one winning entry that we’ve sold since taking over the business in 2017. We couldn’t be happier!

“We wish our latest big winners all the very best with their prize.”
