After only buying lottery tickets together for five months, a group of Mornington Peninsula mates are excitedly planning a boy’s trip away to celebrate their $1.8 million TattsLotto win.

There were 11 division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 4257 on Saturday, 7 May 2022. Each entry scored a division one prize of $1,818,181.82.

As well as winning division one, the private syndicate of six also won division two 6 times, division three 36 times, division four 315 times, division five 300 times and division six 400 times, boosting their total windfall to $1,905,151.12.

Speaking with us this morning, the private syndicate leader shared this wasn’t the first time this year the group had won a big prize.

“My mates and I buy lottery tickets whenever there’s a big draw. We started doing it at the beginning of the year,” the private syndicate leader shared.

“We’ve even won thousands and thousands before, so we always hoped we’d win more!

“We decided to play this game because of the $20 million draw, and we’re glad we did.

“I checked our ticket straight after the draw on Saturday night. I couldn’t believe it when I saw we’d won division one.

“It was crazy! I was over the moon. We always joke about winning, but it was surreal when it happened.

“I rang all the boys straight after checking the ticket, and they couldn’t believe it. It took a bit of convincing. They thought I was pulling their leg.

“Once they realised it was real, we headed down to the pub to celebrate. We celebrated right into the night; it was great!

“We’re all planning to take some time off and go away for a weekend to celebrate. Maybe we’ll go for a boy’s weekend.

“We’re all going to use the prize to pay off our mortgages and look after our families. It’s fantastic!

“Maybe next time we’ll win the entire $20 million prize. Now, wouldn’t that be nice!”

The winning entry was purchased at Euro Garages Australia - Frankston North, Woolworths Caltex Petrol, Cnr Mcclelland Dr and Skye Rd, Frankston.

The Euro Garages Australia - Frankston North team are thrilled for their winners and wish them all the best with their prize.
