Two Canberrans have had a winning weekend, each scoring almost $1 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

There were five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4425 on Saturday 16 December 2023. Each division one winning entry pocketed $982,100.68.

“You have no idea what this means to me.

“It’s a pretty decent prize – I’m not going to lie.

“It will allow me to buy a house. This is definitely the best way to start a new year!”

Saturday Lotto bedtime surprise spells sleepless night for Wanniassa woman

A Wanniassa woman has admitted she didn’t get a wink of sleep on Saturday night after checking her division one winning Saturday Lotto ticket before bedtime.

“I couldn’t sleep. My brain just went into hyperdrive,” she laughed when speaking to an official from The Lott.

“I didn’t sleep all night, but that’s a good problem to have.

“I check my numbers every Saturday night. I don’t go to bed until I check my ticket.

“This time, I just kept looking at it. I double-checked it four times until it sank in that there were all six numbers there.

“I think I sat there and cried.

“I’ve already thought about what I’ll do with the prize. It’s not just mine… I’m going to donate to charity, help the kids and family, and treat myself along the way.

“I’m just thrilled”.

The woman’s marked 17-game entry was purchased at Erindale News N Gifts, Shop 12, Erindale Shopping Centre, 68 Comrie Street, Wanniassa.
