All kids deserve a fair go. No matter what life throws at them. No matter their ability.

It’s the simple principle that drives Variety SA to make a big difference for Australian kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.

The organisation aims to help when others can’t, providing an avenue for support when government assistance isn’t available.

Last year alone Variety SA assisted more than 24,000 kids in need through grants, providing them with medical and mobility equipment and services, technology, programs, scholarships, therapy, and a range of fun experiences to bring joy to families doing it tough.

We’re proud to support Variety SA’s important work and today announced a $50,000 donation.

The donation will fund a Variety Sunshine Coach, transporting kids to schools and facilities that cater for children with physical disability and/or regional or social disadvantage.

A Variety Sunshine Coach isn’t just a vehicle. It’s a way for kids to have access to their community and experience a range of special programs and activities that might not otherwise be available to them.

Variety SA Chief Executive Officer Mark McGill said the team was delighted to receive a donation from The Lott by SA Lotteries.
“Variety SA – the Children’s Charity is thrilled to accept this generous donation from The Lott,” he said.

“With The Lott’s amazing support these funds will be dedicated to expanding our Sunshine Coach program to enable kids to get out and about in the community and enjoy experiences most take for granted.

“On behalf of all the children who will benefit from this kind donation, we say thank you to The Lott for making this possible.”

The Lott General Manager Andrew Shepherd said he was honoured to support the team on its incredible mission.

“We’re committed to giving back to the communities in which we operate, and we have a long history of supporting health initiatives,” he explained.

“We’re proud to continue that legacy today by supporting Variety SA and their goal of helping kids and their families when times are tough.

“All families deserve to have as much support as possible during such a stressful time. With organisations like Variety SA, we hope that families going through these difficult times know they aren’t alone.”
