Pick entries

A Pick entry is a way of playing with either 1 or 2 guaranteed winning numbers (meaning you choose less numbers in each game panel). Having 1 or 2 guaranteed winning numbers gives you more chances to win, plus the chance to win across multiple prize divisions!

How do I play a Pick Entry?

There are many ways you can play a Pick entry – simply choose the option below that’s right for you:

1. Play a System via The Lott website
Within the 'Create Your Own' tab for your chosen game, choose 'System' in the top menu, select your Pick type and the number of games you want to play. You can choose your own numbers or have them automatically filled out for you.

No matter which way you choose to play, don't forget to save your Pick entry as a Favourite for next time. Not a member? Join online now or find out more about our Membership Program.

2. Play a System using The Lott app
After choosing your game and the draw you want to play into, choose 'System' in the top menu, play either a QuickPick or choose your own numbers and then select the Pick type and number of games you want to play.

3. Grab a QuickPick in-store
Simply speak with your friendly retailer and provide the Pick type and the number of games you would like to play. Your numbers will be randomly generated for you at purchase.

4. Mark a coupon in-store
Using a coupon, simply mark the 'SYSTEM/PICK' box in the bottom right-hand corner of the game panel and using your favourite numbers mark the remaining numbers within your chosen game panel(s).

How do Pick entries work?

Pick entries are like playing lots of standard games.

Below we show an example using TattsLotto. It's important to note that TattsLotto is a game of chance where all numbers are drawn randomly. Each number has an equal chance of being drawn.

A standard game panel is 6 numbers.

When you play a Pick 5, you only need to select 5 numbers, knowing that the 6th is a guaranteed winning number.

In the example below we have chosen numbers 1-5 as our Pick 5 numbers. Based on this selection, the 6th number (which is a guaranteed winning number) can be any value between 6 and 45 (as these are the remaining available numbers that could be selected). The number of equivalent Standard games we are playing is based on the number of different combinations available with the 6th number after our initial selection; in our example this represents 40 equivalent standard games.

The table below shows you how many equivalent games each Pick entry gives you.

How do I win with a Pick entry?

A winning Pick entry pays multiple prizes (and sometimes across multiple divisions) because each game contains either 1 or 2 guaranteed winning numbers.

Lets consider a draw that resulted with the following winning numbers:

Continuing from our earlier example, if we played our Pick 5 entry we would have matched 4 winning numbers + 1 supplementary number. Instead of winning a single Division 4 prize, we would win:

3 x Division 4 prizes + 37 x Division 5 prizes!

What are the different types of Pick entries?

There are 2 types of Pick entries available:

  • A Pick that guarantees 2 winning numbers in a game.
  • A Pick that guarantees 1 winning number in a game.

The type of Pick entry you play relates to how many numbers you select per game panel. For example if you play a Pick 5 entry in TattsLotto, you select 5 numbers and are guaranteed 1 winning number.
