A Keilor East grandmother has plans to spoil the grandkids rotten after discovering she has won a life changing division one prize of $25 million in last night’s Powerball draw.

The woman held one of only two division one winning tickets across Australia in last night’s Powerball draw, draw 1114 on Thursday 21 September 2017.

When a Tatts official phoned to break the exciting news she asked if the unsuspecting winner was sitting down, the woman
admitted she was braced for the dream revelation.

“I don’t need to sit down, I’m here and I’m ready!” the woman exclaimed.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this phone call.

“I’ve been entering Powerball for many, many years and I’ve never won anything!

“Oh thank god! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

When asked how she planned to spend the out-of-this-world $25 million Powerball windfall, the grandmother’s thoughts immediately turned to her cherished family.

“I am going to buy myself a house as I am still renting and give the rest to the kids and grandkids – they need it more than me,” she said.

“I’ll keep it a secret though and not tell my family, I just want to surprise them with the money!”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 50-game QuickPick entry from Milleara Mall Lotto, Shop 42A, Milleara Shopping Centre, Cnr Milleara Road and Buckley Street, Keilor East.

Milleara Mall Lotto owner Jovan Petrovski said they were thrilled to have sold the winning entry.

“We are so excited to wake up to the news we had sold such a huge division one winning entry!” Jovan said

“We have been celebrating in store all morning and have been telling all of our customers we sold it!”

“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the best with their life changing prize!”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1114 on Thursday 21 September 2017 were 26, 17, 2, 10, 25 and 23, while the all-important Powerball number was 5.

Across Australia there were only two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1114, one from Victoria and one from New South Wales.

Last financial year, 18 Powerball division one winning entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions won more than $273 million.  During this time, the biggest individual division one Powerball prize was won by a syndicate of Queensland Government workers who took home $55 million.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 311 so far this calendar year, including 112 won by Tatts customers.
