A Glen Waverly man who walked into his local newsagent to collect a $750 TattsLotto win has strolled out a millionaire.

The Melbourne player held one of the 10 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4223 on Saturday 8 January 2022.

Each division one winning entry scored $1 million.

Speaking with us moments after his division one revelation, the Victorian explained how he’d mistakenly thought he’d won a smaller prize.

“I checked my ticket at home. I’d missed number 29, so I thought I just had five numbers and had won division three. I just came down to pick up $750 from the newsagent,” he laughed.

“But I’ve actually matched all six numbers and won division one! I’m just in a little bit of a daze.

“I never thought I was going to win the big one.

“I’m a retiree, so this is going to be a big help. My son says I’ve got to get a new car, while my daughter says I need to buy a new house.  We’ll see. “Not sure I’m going to get a lot of sleep tonight thinking about it all.

“I’ll keep playing, but I don’t expect to win division one again.”

The life-changing entry was purchased at Kerrie Lotto News, 4 Kerrie Road, Glen Waverley.

Kerrie Lotto News owner Harry Hu said he was glad his winner had come forward and claimed their prize.

“I was so excited by this unbelievable news!” he said.

“We had another customer win $10,000 recently, so we feel very lucky.

“I’ve been sharing this wonderful news with our customers and they’re all hoping they’re next to win big. Most of them are so surprised by this news and so happy for the winner.

“Our outlet is in the heart of the Glen Waverley's community, most of our customers have been shopping here for years, so we hope they all get a chance to win a major prize.

“This is my first major win as I only took over this outlet in December 2021, so I am so thrilled. This store has had more than 15 division one wins overall.

“It’s been very difficult these past few years, so we couldn’t be happier this winner has scored a life-changing prize. We hope they enjoy it.”
