Powerball claims its first division one winner for 2022

It may have taken a few calls, but a Brisbane man finally answered the phone on Thursday night to discover he was the sole division one winner in Powerball’s $60 million jackpot draw.

The Queenslander is the first Powerball division one winner of 2022.

“Mate, this is bloody unreal,” the man exclaimed shortly after the draw.

“There is a massive shock factor. You always daydream, but you never really expect it to happen. It’s a lottery after all!

“It’s a lot to think about now. I know the money will help a lot of people. I still plan to turn up to work in 2022 too!”

Seventeen winning entries share $40 million Megadraw prize

New Year’s Eve celebrations sparked tremendous joy as 17 division one entries took out Lotto’s $40 million Megadraw!

Amongst these winners were 14 newly minted multi-millionaires and three thrilled syndicates.

Each winning entry snared a life-changing prize worth more than $2.3 million.

One Megadraw winner shared how she was gifted her unforgettable multi-million-dollar prize.

“I received this as a Secret Santa gift from my brother-in-law. He’d bought a ticket for everyone, but this was the one that won division one. We were so blown away! It felt like a dream-come-true,” she said.

Cooroy man wakes up to $1 million windfall on holiday

Just when a Cooroy man thought his holiday in Central Queensland couldn’t get any better, an unexpected million-dollar Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto win sweetened the deal!

To celebrate his new millionaire status, the Noosa Shire man revealed he’s contemplating extending his holiday.

“It’s really amazing! I can’t believe it. You never think you’re actually going to win. I’ve been purchasing entries for a while and only win $30 here and there, so this is just sensational,” he said.

“We were supposed to enjoy an overseas holiday in Europe earlier last year, but we had to pull the plug as the COVID cases continued to climb, so we probably will do more travelling later this year.”

Winning Instant Scratch-Its tickets continue Christmas cheer

While Christmas may be over for another year, the season of gifting continues right into the New Year for many who continue to come forward and claim their Instant Scratch-Its top prizes received as Christmas gifts.

This week a Schofields man unwrapped a $25,000 top prize Instant Scratch-Its ticket after a week in quarantine.

“It was actually a Christmas gift from my friend, so it’s definitely a wonderful present! When I scratched the top prize, I didn’t believe it at first. I told my friend straight away and he was over the moon.”

After such a winning start to the year, we can only hope things get bigger and better from here!
