Our Prize Pool Distribution

Lottery Rules

When you play a lottery game conducted by Tatts, NSW Lotteries, Golden Casket or SA Lotteries, you agree to be bound by the lottery rules governing those games. The lottery rules are available for you to inspect free of charge by asking your retailer or visiting thelott.com.

Prize Pool Allocation

A large portion of every lottery ticket purchased is used to create a prize pool that is used to pay the prizes won in a given lottery draw.

Lottery games have a range of prizes available to be won, which we call “prize divisions”. In each draw, the prize pool is shared across the prize divisions in a way that gives bigger prizes to greater combinations of winning numbers.

From time to time, we make changes to the how the prize pool is allocated across a game’s prize divisions to ensure prizes are best aligned to customer expectations and to maximise excitement wherever possible. These changes are made within the parameters defined in the lottery rules and approved by our various regulators as required.

The below table sets out the current prize pool allocations currently in effect and should be read in conjunction with the current lottery rules.
