Having fun & playing responsibly

The Lott is committed to providing our customers with a safe, secure and friendly environment in which to play our games.

For most people, playing lottery games is fun and entertaining; however for a small percentage of people playing can become a problem. Responsible Play is all about being informed, having fun and knowing your limits.

If playing lottery games is no longer fun for you or you are concerned about someone close to you, help is always at hand.

Free and confidential support and counselling services are available 24/7 by calling Gambling Help on 1800 858 858 or visiting their website.

Hearing impaired callers can contact the Gambling Helpline via the National Relay Service. Interpreter services are also available for non-English speakers.

There are also a number of Gambling Help service offices located across all regions of Australia. Find out more

1. Spend Limits

You can set your own personal spend limits online within your account. We also encourage you to personally set a play limit according to your individual circumstances for retail purchases.

2. Waiting periods

To help prevent sudden decisions to increase your spend limit, a 7-day waiting period always applies.

3. Exclude from online play

You can choose to exclude yourself from playing our online games for a minimum of 180 days, during which time you will not be able to access your account and will be required to contact us to re-activate your account after the exclusion period has ended.

Visit the My Settings section of your account when logged in to complete this process. Once excluded, this request cannot be cancelled.

4. Opt-out from marketing communications

When you exclude yourself from playing we automatically opt you out of our communications. Alternatively you can be opted out of receiving our communications without self-excluding by calling our Responsible Play Liaison Officers on 1300 138 132 or 07 3340 6125.

5. BetStop

The Lott is not part of BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register™. However, we are committed to providing our customers with a safe, secure and friendly environment in which to play our games. If playing lottery games is no longer fun for you or you are concerned about someone close to you, we offer a number of self management tools, including the option to exclude yourself from playing our lottery games online. Find out more about how we can help above.

6. Contact Us

Call us on 1300 138 132 or 07 3340 6125 (during extended business hours) to ask to speak to a Responsible Play Liaison Officer. On request our officers can provide contact details for gambling-related support services as well as assist with excluding you from play, opting out of receiving communications or removing you from our player programs by deactivating your membership.

If English is not your first language, our Responsible Play Liaison Officers can connect you to a national translation service during your call and a three-way conversation can be held with a translator.

You must be 18 years of age or older to play Lotteries.

We do not allow minors to purchase entries into Lotteries in-store, and conduct proof of age and identity checks to prevent minors from playing online.

Below are some tips for parents or guardians on how to protect minors at home:

  • Keep your username and password details out of reach, and where applicable avoid auto-fill of login details on shared family devices.
  • Always ensure you log out of your Lotteries account to prevent access.
  • Install parental control software which allows you to control and block access to gambling websites both on desktop and mobile devices. Visit the Australian Government's website Stay Smart Online for more information on how to do this.
  • Educate your children about the legality and potential damage of underage gambling.
  • Limit the amount of time your children spend online.
