Lisarow woman floored by $100,000 Lucky Lotteries discovery
A Lisarow woman admitted that after checking her Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot ticket and discovering she won $100,000, she laid down on the floor completely bewildered, thinking ‘am I seeing things?’.
The New South Wales player won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10404, drawn Thursday 27 August 2020.
The ticket was unregistered, so we had no way of contacting the winner to break the news and had to wait for her to come forward to claim her prize.
Speaking with our team, the overjoyed woman relayed the moment she realised she was the mystery winner lottery officials had been searching for.
“I had a shocker of a week and decided to check my lottery ticket, thinking I might have won something small and that would cheer me up,” she explained.
“And that’s when I saw the win. I thought ‘no way’ and it was a very fuzzy moment from there.
“I just kept thinking, ‘Am I seeing things?’.
“I laid down on the floor after that just completely shocked.
“I ended up calling my husband into the room and he was convinced I’d read it wrong, so he checked it over and over again.
“I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry!
“I wanted to jump up and down and scream.
“I actually received the ticket as a gift from a friend. So I called her and told her the news and she came straight over with a bottle of champagne to celebrate.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the elated woman admitted she already had a few ideas.
“We have decided we’re going to use the money to do a big overseas trip when we can. We will take a while off work and just travel and really enjoy ourselves,” she shared.
“I also want to get myself some nice jewellery, and it will be a bit more expensive than what I would usually get myself!
“I will get my friend something as well, as a thank you.”
The winning entry was purchased at Lisarow Newsagency, Shop 14 Lisarow Plaza, Cnr Pacific Highway & Parsons Road, Lisarow.
Lisarow Newsagency owner Gary Ge said he couldn’t be happier for his winner.
“What fantastic news,” he said.
“She came in and told us and we are so happy for her!
“She is a very deserving winner, so we couldn’t be more thrilled.
“We hope she has some exciting plans for her prize.
“Fingers crossed we are on a winning streak and we have plenty more major prize wins.”
