Two Melton men have today apologised for hanging up on officials from the Lott who were attempting to deliver them $100,000 worth of winning news.

The Victorian players won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10386, drawn Tuesday 9 June 2020.

When we reached out to the private syndicate leader, he explained why he initially thought the call was a joke.

“Sorry I hung up on you when you called me and ignored all of your calls. I have been receiving a lot of nuisance calls and I thought it might have been them, or it was some kind of prank!” he laughed.

“It wasn’t until I logged into my online account that I found out I won.

“I was very surprised! I couldn’t believe it!

“This is actually a private syndicate with a family member. I called him straight after I saw we’d won. He was shocked! He didn’t believe me at first.

“We’ve been playing every week for years, but we’ve never won anything like this.

“We are very happy indeed.”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their prize, the thrilled winner held no hesitation.

“I am going to use my portion to pay some bills and get myself a new computer,” he shared.

“He is going to use his portion to go travelling when we can go overseas again.”

The winners, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry of four random numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
