A Strathpine grandmother has come home from holidays to discover a $100,000 Lucky Lotteries birthday present had been sitting in her mailbox for almost two weeks.

The ecstatic woman won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 201262, drawn on Friday 21 December 2018. The winner also scored a consolation prize of $2,000, ramping up her total windfall to $102,000.

Sharing her joy with us this morning, the woman explained while she had been holidaying interstate, the gift, worth $102,000, had been at home waiting for her return.

“We had been away for Christmas and my aunty had posted the ticket to me for my birthday and I didn’t check the mail until we got home a couple of days ago,” she shared.

“I opened it up and wondered if it had been drawn yet.

“Then I checked the draw online, saw it had been won and thought ‘holy sh*t!’

“It was a beautiful birthday present and a lovely surprise to come home to.

“I love reading all the stories about the winners but you never think it will actually happen to you!

“I’m very excited.”

The woman explained she felt luck had to be on her side for the winning ticket to land in her mailbox.

“My sister and I have birthdays just days apart and my aunty send us both Lucky Lotteries tickets every year,” she revealed.

“The winning ticket could have gone to my sister but instead it went to me. I was the lucky one!

“The prize is going to go towards a block of land we’ve just purchased.”

The winner revealed her family had a feeling she had the winning entry after hearing we had been trying to unite a player with their prize.

“My uncle saw on the local news that an entry purchased in Grafton had won the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot but the player hadn’t claimed the prize yet,” she explained.

“He thought it could have been me or my sister!”

The winning 10-number entry was purchased at Grafton Shoppingworld News, Shop 59, Shoppingworld, 42 Duke Street, Grafton.

Grafton Shoppingworld News owner Rose Driver said she felt relieved to know the winner had finally claimed.

“We were getting so many customers coming in hoping they had the winning ticket,” she laughed with relief.

“We’re so happy for the winner, it’s lovely to win a prize like that.”
