A Capel Sound man’s appetite vanished in a flash the moment he answered a phone call revealing his mouth-watering $2.5 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Mornington Peninsula local held one of two division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4475, drawn Saturday 8 June 2024. He looks forward to a total prize of $2,504,803.55.

The victorious Victorian was in the middle of heating up some toast when we surprised and delighted him with the revelation he was now a newly made multi-millionaire.

“Oh, oh!” he gasped.

“Oh okay! Wow. You’re not kidding right?

“I’ve won $2.5 million? Wow, okay.

“I’ve lost my appetite. I was making some toast, but I think I need to turn the toaster off.

“I’m numb. I don’t know what to feel. I bought this ticket as a one off and I never thought I’d win.

“This is really something. I feel like I’m walking on air.

“I can’t wait to call my daughter and let her know about the news.

“She’s been telling me to upgrade my phone all this time. I’m sure it will be the first thing she’ll tell me to do!

“I do want to organise temporary accommodation to be with my daughter. This will help!

“I am honestly so shocked. What a morning already!

“I’ll finish my breaky and enjoy a celebratory drink later.”

His winning marked System 7 entry was purchased at Capel Sound News & Lotto, 1643 Point Nepean Road, Capel Sound.

Capel Sound News & Lotto owner Sharon Shacklock said her team were shocked and super excited to have sold their first division one winning entry.

“Woohoo! Finally we sold one! We’re just overwhelmed and couldn't be happier for the lucky customer,” she said.

“We’re going to be decorating the shop like crazy and we won’t be forgetting this one for a while."
